Hi Everyone!
You know me as the Thai lady who posted on Reddit last week. I’m excited to welcome you to The Soulful Systems mailing list. You’re receiving this email because you expressed interest in joining a gathering focused on deep, meaningful conversations. I also want to let you know that you can choose to only receive updates for the upcoming Soulful Gathering if that feels more aligned for you.
If you’re only interested in “Soulful Gathering” updates, here’s how to do it:
Go to your Substack profile (top right corner)
Go to “Settings”. Scroll to “Subscriptions” and click on “The Soulful Systems”.
Here, you’ll find “Notifications”.
Uncheck the box next to “The Soulful Systems”, but leave the box next to “Soulful Gathering” checked, like so:
👁️🗨️ What We Discovered from the Survey
Thank you for sharing your thoughts through the recent survey. We were able to collect 28 responses in total. Your responses were not only insightful, but also beautifully honest. Here are some highlights that show just how much we all resonate with similar feelings and concerns:
Feeling overwhelmed — 94% of us shared that the world often feels like it’s moving too fast, and it’s tough to keep up.
Longing for connection — 87% of us expressed feeling disconnected, even while surrounded by people, and crave deeper and more meaningful conversations.
Biggest worry about the future — The most common concerns included personal growth and meaning in life (58%), politics and social division (52%), losing real human connection (45%) and climate change (42%).
Why join this gathering? — Most of us are seeking a sense of connection, clarity about where you stand in today’s world, and simply a good conversation with like-minded people.
Preferred atmosphere — Over 60% of us don’t mind at all where we meet as long as open-mindedness is the focus.
I really enjoyed reading your responses and I hope you take this as a reminder that we’re not alone in feeling this way.
🌿 A Story that Hit Close to Home
I also want to introduce someone whose work embodies the essence of meaningful connection —
David B Lauterwasser
from An Animist’s Ramblings. Dave and his wife are in Chantaburi province, Thailand, doing something most people just talk about; healing the earth, one patch of land at a time. Their work, The Feun Foo Community (สวนฟื้นฟูวิถียั่งยืน), focuses on restoring natural ecosystems and promoting sustainable living. It’s an inspiration for someone like me that meaningful change can start with small, but dedicated efforts. Their journey has been an expression of how we can reconnect with nature and each other in more sincere and honest ways.
It’s the kind of connection I want Soulful Gathering to spark for all of us, grounded in reality but reaching for something bigger than ourselves.
💭 So, What’s Next?
I’m thinking of hosting our first gathering online, seeing that I received a few requests from people who live outside Bangkok. It will likely happen on a weekend, so that it’s easier for everyone to join. Again, I would love to hear your thoughts to help shape this — I’ve created another (deeper) survey so that we can connect on a more personal level.
I will be back with more details soon!
